The Degrees of the Royal and Select Master Mason are known as the preservative degrees. They continue to fill in the historical gaps that preceding degrees omitted.

The Grand Council confers three degrees: the Royal Master, the Select Master and the Super Excellent Master, together with the Order of the Silver Trowel.
